CD Projekt Red announced on social media that the next-gen version of the cult game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt should be released later this year. Earlier, the company planned the release in the second quarter of 2022. Russian studio Saber Interactive (which once ported the game to the Nintendo Switch) was working on the update, and CD Projekt Red has decided to refuse its services . Therefore, the company’s internal studio will be completing its work.

However, it should be noted that CDPR originally planned to release the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 in late 2021 with a similar update for Cyberpunk 2077. An update for the latter became available in February 2022 and brought a number of improvements, including support for ray tracing technology and faster game download.

As for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CDPR does not specify what bonuses players will receive from the next-gen version. It is known that DLC will be available, “inspired” by the series from Netflix.
