Qualcomm on its social networks has confirmed its intention to hold a presentation on May 20, which will present a new Snapdragon processor. The company has not yet specified which product we will see, but most likely it will be an “upgraded” version of the flagship chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, which will receive a Plus prefix.

Qualcomm will hold a presentation on May 20. We expect a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus processor

Qualcomm is expected to change the chipset maker and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus will be manufactured at TSMC, not Samsung. The chip itself will receive a slight update of the graphics processor, compared to the regular version. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus is likely to be installed in Samsung’s flagships (Galaxy Fold 4 and Flip 4), as well as OSOM OV1, a privacy-focused smartphone developed by the Essential PH-1 team.
