The US Department of Defense has revealed details of military assistance to Ukraine. According to the Pentagon, the United States has allocated more than $4.5 billion to Ukraine’s security, including about $3.8 billion since the unprovoked Russian invasion on February 24.

United States security assistance to Ukraine includes:

  • More than 1,400 Stinger anti-aircraft systems;
  • More than 5,500 Javelin anti-tank systems;
  • More than 14,000 other anti-tank systems;
  • More than 700 tactical Switchblade drones;
  • 90,155-mm howitzers and more than 200,000 155-mm artillery shells;
  • 72 tactical machines for towing 155-mm howitzers;
  • 16 Mi-17 helicopters;
  • Hundreds of armored highly mobile multi-purpose wheeled vehicles;
  • 200 M113 armored personnel carriers;
  • More than 7,000 small arms;
  • More than 50,000,000 cartridges;
  • 75,000 sets of body armor and helmets;
  • 121 Phoenix Ghost Tactical Unmanned Aerial Systems;
  • Laser-guided missile systems;
  • Puma unmanned aerial systems;
  • Unmanned Coast Guard Vessels;
  • 17 anti-artillery radars;
  • Four anti-mortar radars;
  • Two air surveillance radars;
  • M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel munitions;
  • C-4 explosives and explosive devices to clear obstacles;
  • Tactical secure communication systems;
  • Night vision devices, thermal imaging systems, optics and laser rangefinders;
  • Commercial satellite imagery services;
  • Means of protection against explosive objects;
  • Chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear means of protection;
  • Medical care, including first aid kits;
  • Equipment for electronic interference;
  • Field equipment and spare parts.

The Pentagon also says the United States is continuing to work with its allies and partners to identify and provide additional defense capabilities for Ukraine. Last night, the US House of Representatives approved the allocation of $40 billion to Ukraine, instead of the previously proposed $33 billion. The new aid package must now be supported by the Senate and approved by US President Joe Biden.
