While Tesla is expanding production and continues to dominate the electric car market in the premium segment, its new California competitor Lucid is planning its European expansion.

By the end of 2022, the company plans to appear in Germany, Switzerland, Norway and the Netherlands. Top versions of Lucid Air Dream Edition P (Performance) and R (Range) will be available to buyers initially. In the US, the prices of such configurations start at $169 thousand, but in Europe, of course, they will cost significantly more:

Lucid luxury electric cars will be available in Europe this year

The choice of equipment will affect the power and distance that the car can cover on a single charge. Yes, the Dream Edition P has 1111 hp, accelerates to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and can travel 758 km (471 miles). A model with index R is slightly weaker and slower – 933 hp with acceleration to a hundred km/h in 2.7 seconds, but has a greater range of almost 837 km (or 520 miles). The top speed of both configurations is 270 km/h (168 mph).

Cheaper configurations will also be on sale, but later. The company will announce the exact prices later. Prices for the base models are expected to start at €100,000.

The manufacturer plans to open its first studio in Europe this week, on May 13 in Munich. Further sales outlets and service centers will open later this year.

Speaking about its plans, the company also added that the factory in Arizona increases the production forecast for this year from 12 thousand electric cars to 14.
