A group of hackers DDoSecrets has published an e-mail archive of the VGTRK media company, which contains 900,000 letters and 4,000 files. VGTRK (All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company) is a Russian state broadcaster that operates five national television channels, two international networks, five radio stations and more than 80 regional television and radio networks. This data set covers more than twenty years of correspondence.

VGTRK also manages the Rossiya Segodnya news agency, which manages Sputnik media, RIA Novosti and other structures.

According to former VGTRK employees, Kremlin officials dictated how to cover the news and introduced propaganda materials aimed at discrediting Ukraine. According to the former operator of the media company, VGTRK employees also took editorial instructions from the Kremlin, blacklisted experts who didn’t hold the party-line and joked about whose “turn to lie” it was.
