Zelenskyy imposed sanctions against suppliers of components for the Shahed
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has imposed sanctions against suppliers of components for the Iranian-Russian Shahed 136 (Geran-2) drones and chip production machines in Russia, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, announced.
The signed Decree comes into force from the moment of its signing. It covers 87 entities, including 52 citizens of the Russian Federation. Restrictions have also been imposed against 34 Russian and one Chinese company.
The sanctioned entities actively cooperated with the enterprise that produces "Shaheeds" in Tatarstan. They supplied components, equipment and materials necessary for the production of kamikaze drones. Individuals and companies that were included in the sanctions list were also engaged in the supply of production equipment to the defense enterprises of the aggressor country.
The introduction of sanctions by Ukraine could become a marker for Western countries, which are also implementing their own restrictions against Russian companies.
As a reminder, earlier the Main Intelligence Directorate published new facts about the modernization of the Shaheds. An American minicomputer was discovered in the Shahed-136 MS series drone shot down in the Sumy region, which is designed for artificial intelligence and helps the drone to aim at the target.
