The Ukrainian military has received a new MV-25 OSKAR loitering munition, developed by the French company KNDS France in cooperation with DELAIR and EOS Technologie. This drone belongs to the MATARIS line, which includes several models with different flight ranges and purposes.
The developers note that the MV-25 OSKAR has already received positive feedback from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its development and implementation took only two years, and the first combat tests took place in June 2024.
This drone is designed to engage infantry and lightly armored vehicles. It is equipped with a 550-gram high-explosive fragmentation warhead and is capable of operating at a distance of up to 25 km, staying in the air for up to 45 minutes.
The MV-25 OSKAR is easy to deploy and does not require a runway or prepared terrain. The device has low radar visibility and uses an interference-resistant data channel, which allows navigation in conditions of no satellite signal.
It also recently became known that the French car company Renault is discussing with the French Ministry of Defense the production of drones in Ukraine. No decision has been made yet, as Renault expects further details from the French ministry after the negotiations.
According to some reports, Renault will cooperate with a small defense company to establish a production facility in Ukraine for drones tens or hundreds of kilometers from the front line. It is reported that these drones will be used by both Ukraine and the French armed forces.
