Ukrainian company Athlon Avia, which creates the Furia reconnaissance drone, has announced the launch of its own recruitment campaign, the manufacturer said in a statement.
"Its goal is to increase the effectiveness of combat missions, increase the number of motivated operators with the military specialty "External pilot (operator) of UAVs" (VOS 216). The company guarantees that it will provide recruits with full support and a pilot position in the army," explained the company's CEO Artem Vyunnyk.
The recruitment campaign is held under the slogan: "We select. We train. We guarantee." The company describes the recruitment process on its website: it begins with submitting an application, then the candidate must undergo selection (testing, interview), and then choose a unit and sign a contract with the selected team.
After that, the person undergoes basic general military training, learns to fly the Fury UAV, and deals with his combat unit.
The training consists of several parts. Theoretical part: navigation, aerodynamics, meteorology, flight planning and execution, operational procedures, radio communications.
In addition, there are special disciplines: combat mission planning, decoding, artillery fire adjustment procedures, electronic warfare countermeasures, and practicing combat scenarios.
Flight disciplines are also provided: piloting in automatic and manual modes, night flights, visual navigation, search and fixation of objects, work in emergency situations.
Finally, the training also includes practical disciplines: UAV composition, deployment/collapse of the complex, power supply, takeoff and landing, and UAV maintenance.
By the way, recently "Athlon Avia" demonstrated a modernized version of the reconnaissance drone "Fury". "Fury-2" can stay in the air for up to 5 hours. As for its flight range, it is currently about 70 km. But the company is working to increase this figure to 100 km.
