Ukraine and the United Kingdom have launched a "mega-project" to produce drones for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. President Zelensky agreed to this during a meeting with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.
As part of the initiative, London undertakes to finance the production of a large number of Ukrainian drones for the needs of the Joint Operational Command (JOC) for three years. The agreement provides that the drones will be manufactured in the UK. As Defense Minister Rustem Umerov noted following the agreement, the program will allow British technology companies to quickly design and produce drones on a large scale.
According to the agreement, all drones produced within the project will be supplied exclusively to the Ukrainian military. It is assumed that after the end of the war, the parties will distribute the UAVs according to their needs.
"This will contribute to the scaling of advanced technologies, increasing the production of drones, and integrating our defense industries," Umerov emphasized.
It should be noted that joint production of UAVs with the UK may be part of the program for exporting Ukrainian defense technologies, previously announced by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It involves opening production lines abroad and co-financing the production of Ukrainian technological solutions by partners.
