The United Kingdom promises to deliver 100,000 drones to Ukraine by the end of the current financial year – that is, by April 2026. This is ten times higher than previous deliveries, Reuters reports.
The British government points out that the £350 million ($473 million) UAV package is part of a wider £4.5 billion military aid program for our country.
UK Defence Secretary John Healy is expected to make the announcement at a meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Brussels, co-hosted by Germany.
"The UK is stepping up its support for Ukraine by delivering hundreds of thousands more drones this year and completing a major milestone in the delivery of critical artillery ammunition," the minister said ahead of the meeting.
Recently, the Latvian Ministry of Defense reported that the International Drone Coalition has pledged 2.75 billion euros to support Ukraine in 2025. At the same time, Turkey and Belgium have expressed their intention to join the initiative, which currently unites 18 countries.
Since its founding in February last year, the Drone Coalition has provided significant support to our country. Last year, it allocated €1.8 billion, so the total support over two years will be €4.5 billion.
