European defense technology companies have developed a modern combat unmanned platform designed to combat armored vehicles at medium distances. This is reported by Army Recognition and Defence Blog with reference to the developers. The project is being implemented within the framework of the MARSEUS program, which is funded by the European Defense Fund. Its goal is to promote modular systems for new generation unmanned vehicles.

The new unmanned complex consists of a target detection system, a combat module and a tracked platform. The RFHunter radio frequency detection system, created by SignalGeneriX (Cyprus), is responsible for identifying targets. It captures sources of radio frequency radiation, which are usually created by armored vehicles, such as tanks. This allows for remote detection of potential targets without their direct visibility, without exposing the platform to the risk of direct contact with the enemy.

RFHunter is integrated with a combat module manufactured by MBDA (France), which is equipped with eight AKERON LP guided anti-tank missiles, which can engage targets at a distance of up to 20 km beyond direct visibility. Guidance data is received from RFHunter, as well as from optical sensors.

All of these components are mounted on the Type-X tracked platform from Milrem Robotics (Estonia). The Type-X is designed for unmanned combat operations on the front line, as well as for supporting mechanized units.

Together, this forms a new generation robotic anti-tank complex focused on accuracy, autonomy, and safe remote operation.

The MARSEUS project continues to develop, and the launch of operational tests is planned for the end of this year.
