The European defense company General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) together with KNDS Deutschland presented the new Nemesis self-propelled artillery system (SAU) at the FEINDEF 2025 exhibition in Spain. This is reported by Militarnyi with reference to Hartpunkt. The manufacturers emphasize that the system is created entirely in Europe, which strengthens the defense capabilities of the continent.
Nemesis is equipped with an automated 155 mm AGM artillery module mounted on the ASCOD tracked platform. Thanks to the fully automated module, Nemesis is able to fire at a distance of up to 54 km. The module has the ability to rotate 360° and a wide range of aiming angles, which ensures high accuracy in hitting targets. The system can operate with a crew of two. In addition, according to the manufacturer, it can be operated without a crew at all.
However, experts emphasize that this concept is not new - a similar Donar project based on the M270 MLRS was already created by Germany in 2004. It also had an unmanned artillery module, a minimum crew size and some other similar characteristics. At that time, the Donar self-propelled guns were not of interest to any of the countries, so the implementation of this project was discontinued. Only time will tell how successful the Nemesis system will be.
