An agricultural aircraft with missile weapons was spotted in Ukraine

The national information portal "Tysk" showed a video that probably depicts a modernized Zlin Z-137 Agro Turbo agricultural aircraft equipped with air-to-air missiles.

The Zlin Z-137 is a Czechoslovakian aircraft, typically used for field work. In the video shown, it shows signs of being converted for military use: missiles are seen on board.

Under the wings, it seems, there are pylons installed that allow the use of R-73 missiles (NATO classification AA-11 Archer). These missiles have an infrared guidance system and do not require integration with the aircraft's radar equipment. To launch, it is enough to provide power and a command transmission channel. It is also possible to notice that two white transverse stripes are applied to the tail of the aircraft - an identification mark typical of army aviation.

Most likely, the aircraft's main task is to intercept enemy strike and reconnaissance drones.

The fact of re-equipping a civilian light aircraft for combat missions is in line with the general trend of improvisation in wartime. Ukraine can also use similar platforms for reconnaissance, logistics, and strike operations.
