Ukraine has allocated land for a new Rheinmetall projectile production plant – Shmyhal
In one of the safe regions of Ukraine, a plot of land was officially allocated for the construction of a new Rheinmetall plant.
This was announced by the Minister of Defenсe of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal after a meeting with the CEO of the German defense concern Armin Papperger at the DSEI international arms exhibition in London.
According to Shmyhal, the plant will specialize in the production of artillery shells for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. He also noted that agreements have been reached between the parties to launch joint production, and the necessary procedures have already been completed.
In addition to the topic of ammunition, the talks also discussed cooperation in the areas of armored vehicles and air defense. In particular, the development of capacities for the repair and production of armored vehicles, as well as improving solutions for combating enemy drones, were discussed.
It was previously reported that Rheinmetall plans to supply Ukraine with Skyranger mobile air defense systems designed to combat drones in 2025.
