- 19 June, 09:43 AM

On June 18, a Shahed equipped with a camera, a direct radio control system from Russia, and an artificial intelligence module (machine vision) were first discovered in Ukraine. This was reported by military radio technology specialist Sergey "Flash" Beskrestnov.

According to him, the development of such a "Shaheed" has been known for a long time, but the first use has been recorded now.

"The radio modem allows you to control the Shahed at a distance of up to 150 kilometers from the borders of Russia or the front line, or at greater distances in the case of using airborne repeaters in our airspace," the specialist explained.

It was previously reported that over the past year alone, several key changes have been made to the drone's design. One of them is a significant modification of the combat units. Secondly, the mass of explosives in the UAV has increased - from 50 to 90 kg. Thirdly, some drones are now equipped with Starlink terminals.

Foreign journalists also claimed that it was possible to connect Shaheds to the Ukrainian mobile network. However, Serhiy Flesh denied this information.

By the way, the day before, the Dnipro Osint intelligence channel based on open data wrote that in Russia, in the Alabuga special economic zone , capacities are being developed at an enterprise for the production of Shaheds.

The channel showed a satellite image showing new construction work covering a total area of about 1.39 km².
