New navigation system discovered in downed Supercam – Flash
In the Sumy direction, the Defense Forces shot down a "Supercam" reconnaissance drone, in which, in addition to the usual modules, a new navigation system was discovered. This was reported by military radio technology specialist Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov.
According to him, the drone was equipped with a high-precision altimeter and a minicomputer, which, according to the expert, could be used for navigation in conditions of constant operation of electronic warfare systems that suppress GPS signals.
"I think that in conditions of suppression of satellite navigation signals, new alternative orientation methods are emerging. Orientation using a height map has been successfully working on V2U UAVs for a year, " the expert clarified.
According to him, the constant operation of electronic warfare at frequencies of 1,575.42 and 1,227.60 MHz, which are used for GPS, also creates problems for the Defense Forces.
"The enemy is covering the territory so densely and repeatedly with satellite navigation signal suppression systems that CRPA antennas with 4 and even 8 elements are no longer effective," Flash announced.
Note that height map navigation typically works by combining geographic coordinates and altitude data of the user, in this case, the drone. This allows you to navigate in space, relying on maps loaded into the computer's memory and without satellite navigation.
Recall that earlier a new version of the V2U drone with artificial intelligence was spotted at the front.
