UkrOboronProm once again entered the list of the largest defense companies in the world
UkrOboronProm took 49th place in the annual TOP 100 Defence Companies 2025 ranking. This was announced by Herman Smetanin, the head of the strategic manufacturer of weapons and military equipment in Ukraine.
The ranking of the largest defense companies in the world for 2024 was published by Defense News.
According to German Smetanin, in 2024 the company's defense revenue amounted to over $3 billion compared to $2.2 billion in 2023.
"This gave a growth rate of 36.3%, which is significantly higher than the global average of 11.2% among the TOP 100 defense companies in the world; JSC "UOP" ranked 49th in absolute defense revenue," said Herman Smetanin.
He also noted that in terms of the growth dynamics of income from the sale of defense products, UkrOboronProm was in 16th place.
The head of the company also listed the leaders in the production and sale of weapons. As before, the leaders in terms of revenue are Lockheed Martin ($68.4 billion), RTX ($43.5 billion), and CASIC (China, $38.7 billion).
The leaders in terms of growth rates were: Anduril (USA, +138%), Askeri Fabrika (Turkey, +100%), SES (Luxembourg, +93.7%) and NORINCO (+93.6%).
"The TOP 30 most dynamic companies in the world include representatives from the USA, China, Turkey, Europe, and South Korea," added Herman Smetanin.
In addition, he emphasized that this year's ranking includes several high-profile "newcomers" who were not previously included in the top 100. Among them:
• GE Aerospace (USA) – 23rd place ($6.1 billion in defense revenues);
• MBDA (France) – 27th place ($5.3 billion);
• Advanced Technology International (USA) – 33rd place ($4.7 billion);
• EDGE Group (UAE) – 38th place ($4.0 billion);

• M1 Support Services (USA) – 94th place ($0.9 billion);
• AM General (USA) – 99th place ($0.74 billion).
At the same time, the head of UkrOboronProm reported that only 54 of the largest defense companies grew over the past year. The rest showed a decline in revenue.
"The total volume of military products produced by the world's 100 largest defense companies in 2024 increased by 11.2% and amounted to $661 billion," he added.
Herman Smetanin emphasized that Ukraine is becoming a key player in the global defense industry.
"Behind these figures is the work of more than 56 thousand gunsmiths, and I thank each of you for this result. At the same time, we all understand: this is still not enough. So every day we work to increase the production of weapons and military equipment for the Ukrainian army," he summed up.
Recall that UkrOboronProm took 49th place in the TOP 100 Defence Companies 2024 ranking, which includes the world's leading arms manufacturers, and became the leader in terms of revenue growth from the sale of military products. The company took 65th place in the 2023 ranking.
In early August, First Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Ivan Havrylyuk, reported that the defense-industrial complex of Ukraine already includes about 900 enterprises. Most of them are privately owned.
By the way, it recently became known that Herman Smetanin has headed UkrOboronProm for the second time. There were 14 candidates for the position in total. Their selection and evaluation were conducted by the international company Odgers Berndtson.
