Ukrainian drone-mother THOR OPERATOR, which can carry FPV and interceptors, was shown in Poland
At the MSPO 2025 exhibition in Poland, the Ukrainian company Altair Technologies presented the THOR OPERATOR drone-uterus. This is reported by Militarnyi.
The developers showed a version with an electric motor that can carry up to 6 kg of payload and fly up to 170 km. The take-off weight of the drone is up to 17.5 kg, it can stay in the air for up to 60 minutes.
In addition, there is a version with an internal combustion engine, which can lift up to 8 kg over a distance of up to 400 km. Its flight time is up to 240 minutes, and the take-off weight is up to 28 kg.
At the same time, both versions can carry two FPVs or two VOGs (grenade launcher fragmentation shot). It is noted that the new product has a modular design, which allows for easy replacement of internal components for a specific task. At the same time, most of the UAV components are foreign.
THOR has already been used in combat. It dropped FPV drones and VOGs, and was also used as a repeater. At the same time, it can carry interceptors for the Shaheds. In addition, there is a reconnaissance version with a retractable camera, which has a high resolution and a stabilization system.
Regarding control, THOR OPERATOR can operate in automatic, semi-automatic and manual modes. If the drone loses contact with the operator, it switches to autonomous flight with an automatic return function.
The Americans have already become interested in the new product, since they have nothing similar to protect against Shaheds and similar products.
It should be noted that this is not the only version of the drone-mother. Previously, Ukraine created a ground-based robot-mother for the simultaneous launch of several FPV drones. It is built on the basis of the ground-based NRC "Vepryk" and can act as both a launch platform and a signal repeater.
And the German company Quantum Systems is developing a new carrier drone called Sparta for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, which is also capable of carrying two FPVs up to 200 km away. It will be produced in Ukraine.
