Engineers of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have developed a mobile air defense system that combines an unmanned ground platform with an Igla-type MANPADS launcher, Militarnyi reports.

It is reported that the installation was created by the brigade's own personnel and can independently guide and hit any large air target. It is claimed that the system has already proven its effectiveness in combat conditions: at least one enemy helicopter has been recorded being destroyed.

The design involves integrating the missile launcher into a special modular platform on a 4x4 chassis, which is remotely controlled using a navigation unit. This approach minimizes risks for operators in the forward deployment area, allowing missiles to be launched from a safe position.

In order to expand the use of the complex, volunteers and the 28th OMBR have begun raising funds to manufacture ten more similar platforms, which they also plan to assemble using the brigade's personnel.

By the way, Turkey recently showed its own mobile air defense system based on the NRK, which has two launchers for 8 surface-to-air missiles with a range of up to 8 kilometers.
