Ukrainian arms manufacturers have already received preferential loans worth UAH 2.7 billion
During the nine months of operation of the state program of preferential lending to defense industry manufacturers, 50 companies received loans totaling UAH 2.7 billion. This is stated in a statement by the Ministry of Defence.
According to the department, another 23 applications from defense enterprises worth over UAH 2.5 billion have now been approved for issuance. Also, 57 applications are at various stages of consideration.
"Mainly, manufacturers of UAVs and components for them apply for preferential loans. This is what today works en masse for our defense, saves the lives of our soldiers and strikes at enemy logistics...", noted Deputy Minister of Defence Anna Hvozdiar.
As is known, the affordable lending program for Ukrainian defense industry manufacturers was initiated by the Ministry of Strategic Industries together with the Ministry of Defence at the end of 2024.
Private sector manufacturers who lack working capital to improve and scale up production facilities can receive:
- up to UAH 100 million for working capital - for a period of up to 3 years;
- up to UAH 500 million for investment projects - for a period of up to 5 years.
The interest rate for defense industry enterprises is 5%, the rest is compensated by the state.
Loan money can be used to expand operational activities, purchase new equipment and components, support working capital for the development of new models of weapons and military equipment and their launch into mass production.
Currently, five banks are participating in the program: Ukreximbank, Oschadbank, MTB Bank, FUIB, and Bank Credit Dnipro.
