The enemy is shooting down more and more Ukrainian reconnaissance "wings". The UAVs "Leleka", "GOR", SHARK and FlyEye are the most affected. This was reported by a specialist in the field of military radio technologies, Serhiy "Flash" Beskrestnov.
According to him, this practice was started by the Rubicon unit and is now teaching others.
"It was inevitable, we showed them a long time ago how effective this path is. But, unfortunately, for almost a year of their lag, we have not developed and created countermeasures against anti-aircraft drones," wrote Serhiy Flesh.
According to the expert, there are not many such measures:
- Electronic warfare against the anti-aircraft drone control channel is questionable for a number of reasons. Both from the ground and from the Ukrainian "wing". The Ukrainians do not know in what range the anti-aircraft drone is controlled, and suppressing all frequencies is utopia;
- Electronic warfare (Zerkalts format) via analog video channel is effective, but the enemy quickly figured it out and, like the Ukrainians, uses digital video channels;
- The "Evasion" system ( when a drone maneuvers when an enemy interceptor approaches, - ed.) on the wings is not 100% effective or even 70%, but it's better than nothing;
- Finding pilots for anti-aircraft drones is also a difficult path;
- An important countermeasure is the search for radar stations (RALS).
The specialist also explained why the enemy did not shoot down the Ukrainian "wings" for so long. According to him, the enemy did not have an effective and compact 3D radar, without which it is impossible to shoot down the "wings".
"Just as it is difficult to search for and shoot down our bombers. Therefore, it is important to identify the type of radar used by the enemy and look for them on the fronts. I am almost sure that these radars are Chinese-made," noted Serhiy Flesh.
He added that it is necessary to think about the protection systems of the "wings".
"The enemy responded to the success of our anti-aircraft drones by increasing the production of its wings. This is also a countermeasure. Air defense shoots down a large percentage of missiles, which means we need to produce more missiles," the specialist emphasized.
It was recently reported that the Ukrainian company Skyeton, which produces the Raybird reconnaissance aircraft complex, and the British company Prevail Partners have agreed to create a joint venture to promote Ukrainian drones in the United Kingdom.
