The new UB60D strike unmanned aerial vehicle complex with a unique warhead has been approved for operation in the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The relevant decision of the Ministry of Defense was announced by the Ukrainian Armored Vehicles company, which developed the UAV.
The company said that the UB60D is a pre-equipped FPV drone, based on a 60mm fragmentation mortar shell. Thanks to this solution, the drones will arrive at the front line already equipped and will not require much time to be brought into combat readiness.
As stated by Vladyslav Belbas, the general director of Ukrainian Armored Vehicles, one complex includes 250 kamikaze drones and a ground control station.
"The drone is designed to engage manpower and lightly armored vehicles. Its design combines the warhead and control system into a single unit, which allows it to be used immediately, without additional equipment. The UB60D provides high mobility: it is easily transported, quickly brought into combat readiness, and does not require long-term operator training," Belbas emphasized.
The complex was successfully tested in a combat zone in January 2025 before being launched into mass production. The tests were conducted in the Pokrovsky direction in the village of Udachnoe. Currently, the drones are being supplied to units in the Zaporizhia direction.
We previously reported that the Ukrainian quadcopter drone R-34-T, which can provide laser targeting for strikes on enemy targets, has also undergone codification at the Ministry of Defense.
