Ukraine offered US a $50 billion drone deal – Zelenskyy
Ukraine has prepared and proposed a $50 billion drone deal to the United States. It is designed for 5 years and provides for the production of 10 million drones per year. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"Regarding drones: the drone deal (agreement – IF-U), which we prepared and proposed to the American side for production and co-production for $50 billion: five years, 10 million drones per year. Such a big program. Probably, after the war, it will work," Zelenskyy said during a conversation with journalists on August 20.
Earlier, the head of state reported on agreements with US President Donald Trump, according to which the US will purchase Ukrainian drones as soon as export is allowed.
"And we have agreements with the US president that when we open up exports, they will buy Ukrainian drones. This is important for us," Zelenskyy said during a briefing in Washington.
It was previously reported that the US is stalling in creating a fleet of naval drones to counter China.
