Ukraine and Poland create joint working group on UAVs – Shmyhal

Ukraine and Poland are creating a Joint Working Group on Unmanned Aerial Systems, Ukrainian Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal announced.

The corresponding Memorandum was signed in Kyiv with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence of Poland, Władysław Kosińska-Kamysz.

According to Denys Shmyhal, the central element of the working group will be joint training programs. It will also:

· promote the exchange of operational knowledge and experience in the field of UAVs;

· develop and test methods for using and countering drones, integrate innovative technologies;

· strengthen interoperability between the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Poland and ensure compatibility with NATO standards.

The parties also signed a Joint Declaration on strengthening security and defense cooperation in key areas, including SAFE and PURL.

The ministers also signed a letter of appeal to NATO defense ministers, calling on allies to send experts to the Joint Analysis, Training and Education Center (JATEC) and to actively participate in its projects.

It was previously reported that the EU wants to create a "drone wall" using Ukrainian technology. This should accelerate the strengthening of the EU's defense position.
