German defense company HENSOLDT has signed a contract to supply radar systems to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. The total value of the order exceeds 340 million euros and includes high-performance TRML-4D radars and SPEXER 2000 3D MkIII short-range radars.

"Our high-performance radars are urgently needed by Ukrainian air defence. A number of radars have been protecting Ukraine since the start of Russia's war of aggression. We are proud to be supplying further systems. The radars are extremely important for protecting citizens," said HENSOLDT CEO Oliver Dörre.

TRML-4D uses AESA technology with active phased array and electronically scanned array. The system is capable of detecting and tracking up to 1,500 targets simultaneously within a radius of up to 250 km. The radar provides accurate detection of cruise missiles, drones, aircraft and helicopters.

SPEXER 2000 radars are designed for automatic monitoring and classification of ground, sea and low-altitude air targets. These modules are used in Rheinmetall's Skyranger 30 gun system, in German Feldlager (ASUL) missile systems, as well as in the HowiSM project, which involves the use of laser weapons against drones.

By the way, the US and Germany recently agreed to transfer 5 Patriot systems to Ukraine as soon as possible. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
