Ukraine and Lithuania will jointly produce defense products, the Ministry of Defenсe of Ukraine reports.

The corresponding Letter of Intent on joint production of defense products in Lithuania and Ukraine was signed in Kyiv by the Minister of Defenсe of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Minister of National Defenсe of Lithuania Dovilė Šakaliė.

"Together, we are focusing on launching joint production, in particular, on the creation of long-range drones. The document creates new opportunities for launching joint ventures, developing Ukrainian companies in Lithuania, and exchanging technologies," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Ministry of Defenсe emphasized that Lithuania will continue to allocate 0.25% of its GDP to military assistance to Ukraine until 2027. According to the minister, this is a strong signal of long-term support for our soldiers.

During the meeting, the heads of defense departments focused on attracting additional funding for the purchase of weapons and the development of Ukrainian industry.

In late July, the Commander-in-Chief of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, General Raimundas Vaikšnoras, announced that the country plans to deploy a Ukrainian acoustic drone detection system.
