Ukraine is gradually closing the funding gap for drone production, President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Facebook.

"Step by step, we are closing the funding deficit for the production of drones, and this week I will have new conversations with partners regarding this task. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council are carrying out relevant instructions at their level," the head of state wrote.

The President also added that on the night of July 28, units of Ukrainian unmanned systems, army aviation and Air Force aviation, anti-aircraft guns, air defense units, and mobile fire groups were actively working.

According to him, in total, the defenders of the sky accounted for several hundred Russian strike drones just this one night.

"Good results in unmanned defense against the "shaheds"  dozens of Russian drones were shot down. Several missiles were also shot down overnight. Unfortunately, not all of them, there were also hits," Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted.

He also noted that Ukraine is constantly strengthening its air shield, and "it is very important to maintain a full understanding among partners of what exactly they can help with."

Earlier, the head of the KMVA, Timur Tkachenko, announced the launch of a "full-fledged" system for intercepting enemy drones flying towards the Ukrainian capital. He said that UAH 260 million would be allocated for the implementation of the initiative.
