"Amazon with drones" to be launched in the US by analogy with the Ukrainian Brave1 Market
In the fall of 2025, the US Army will launch a new online marketplace for purchasing unmanned systems. The platform will be similar to Amazon, in particular in terms of interface. It will allow units to choose proven solutions based on price and performance directly, bypassing the lengthy bureaucratic process that has plagued the Pentagon in recent years. This is reported by Defense Blog.
The platform will feature solutions that can be filtered by cost and performance, allowing you to browse, compare, and select drones, as well as purchase them faster.
The Army has already stated that this approach is part of a broader effort to optimize the evaluation, procurement, and deployment of unmanned systems, which will simplify and speed up the process at all stages.
The US Department of Defense seems to understand that speed of procurement is crucial in modern conflicts, especially when it comes to unmanned systems. Therefore, the United States is studying Ukraine's experience in this area, in particular the Brave1 Market defense technology market.
This system was launched in our country in early 2025. On the market, units can directly purchase technologies from drones to software solutions that are needed on the front line right now.
Brave1 Market already has over 1,000 innovative solutions, including unmanned aerial and ground systems, electronic warfare, artificial intelligence platforms, ammunition, and various software applications.
There is both an open catalog and confidential lists. The former can be accessed by servicemen after authorization in the "Diia" application, while the latter is available only through the "Delta" system, which is used exclusively by the military.
And this is not the only such system in Ukraine. Back in September last year, the state logistics operator presented DOT-Chain - an innovative IT system for managing the logistics needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This allowed to speed up the process of providing the military with everything they need. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated that the new system has reduced the delivery time by four times, since there are now applications, invoices and signatures in one system, and the process itself is automated.
As for the American system, the new platform should provide a competitive environment for industry and reduce the time for selecting and purchasing equipment. It is not yet known how many systems will be initially available on the platform, but the US has promised to focus on proven suppliers and solutions.
