Domestic analogues of Chinese drones of the Mavic type were tested in Ukraine

The Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, together with the Unmanned Systems Forces Command, conducted tests of new multi-rotor reconnaissance UAVs of Ukrainian production. These drones are considered an alternative to the popular "mavics" and are already used on the front.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Strategic Industries, including Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Anna Gvozdiar, military experts, developers and manufacturers of drones, as well as representatives of the Defense Forces units that directly use these technologies in combat conditions. The tests lasted three days, during which the drones were tested for resistance to electronic warfare, strong wind and rain.

Participants familiarized themselves with the characteristics of seven UAV models developed in Ukraine. The tests allowed manufacturers to receive feedback from the military, which will contribute to improving the technologies and their adaptation to real combat conditions.

"It is important for us to ensure independence in providing our Defense Forces. Therefore, our gunsmiths are working on the creation and constant improvement of products in the category of reconnaissance multi-rotor UAVs. Such demonstration events are direct live communication between manufacturers and representatives of the Armed Forces," said Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries Anna Hvozdiar.

One of the companies working on a domestic alternative to the Chinese DJI Mavic 3 is Vyriy Drone. The project for a Ukrainian analogue from this company was launched against the backdrop of a global shortage and the cessation of production of these Chinese UAVs.

The Ukrainian version from Vyriy Drone will have 4 times longer flight time, improved communication and camera quality comparable to the "Mavic". However, there are still some difficulties in the production of the Ukrainian analogue. These include a slightly more complex control system, as well as its price: the first version will cost around $2000, the second - around $3500.
