The US Department of Defense and the State Department have officially approved the sale of two packages of military aid to Ukraine worth a total of $322 million, Suspilne reported, citing the Pentagon press service.

The first package includes HAWK Phase III surface-to-air missile systems, associated equipment, and logistical support. It is valued at approximately $172 million. According to the report, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency has already informed Congress and provided the appropriate certification.

The second package includes parts for maintenance and overhaul of Bradley infantry fighting vehicles. The value of this part of the deal is estimated at $150 million. This sale also received certification from the defense agency.

The Pentagon noted that the delivery of the systems is designed to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, allowing it to more effectively conduct self-defense missions and respond to current and future threats. The statement also emphasizes that the Ukrainian side will have no difficulties with the implementation of the purchased equipment into the structure of the Armed Forces.

This stage of cooperation takes place against the backdrop of President Donald Trump's statements about the production of weapons for Ukraine at the expense of European countries.

By the way, it recently became known that the US is negotiating with a number of countries to supply Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems. It is reported that these will be "separate agreements with individual countries."
