Turkey showed a new mobile air defense system for protection against aircraft

- 24 July, 03:36 PM

The Turkish company ASELSAN presented the autonomous air defense system GÜRZ at the international exhibition IDEF 2025 in Istanbul. The purpose of the development is to strengthen protection against attacks at low altitudes, writes Militarnyi.

GÜRZ is a ground-based drone developed in response to the growing threat of attacks, including UAVs, helicopters, and missiles. In today's combat environment, such a system has become critically important.

The mobile unmanned system has two launchers for eight surface-to-air missiles. The declared range of the missiles is up to eight kilometers.

The weapon has a hybrid architecture that combines a cannon and missile interceptors. Thanks to artificial intelligence, the system can operate autonomously or under remote control.

AI provides another advantage. It not only reduces response time, but also allows you to act effectively even under radio-electronic interference.

GÜRZ is integrated into Turkey's national air defense network.

It was previously reported that at the same exhibition, Turkey showed a new hypersonic ballistic missile with a range of up to 800 km.
