According to Defense Express, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have begun using an updated version of the Vector reconnaissance drones from the German company Quantum Systems, equipped with acoustic artillery detectors and artificial intelligence systems. This was announced by the company's founder Florian Seibel, releasing the first photo of the drone with a new sensor developed by its subsidiary Weles Acoustics.

The development of the acoustic detector was announced in early 2025, when it was at the prototype stage. Serial production was planned for the summer, and now the modernized drones have already been transferred to the Ukrainian military.

According to the tactical and technical characteristics, the new sensor is capable of detecting the direction of artillery or mortar shots at a distance of up to 15 km. The accuracy of determination is 5 degrees per 5 km. This allows the crew to quickly localize the approximate location of enemy artillery, after which it can be accurately identified using the drone's optical cameras.

Quantum Systems has been producing Vector drones in Ukraine since April 2024. Earlier this year, the company announced that it would double drone production in Ukraine.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian company Besomar presented a reusable aircraft-type interceptor drone equipped with a shotgun with an automated firing system. The device is capable of firing two shots, but if necessary, the number of shots can be increased to four.
