Companies from Ukraine and Denmark have entered into a partnership to develop an AI drone interceptor
Ukrainian company Odd Systems has announced a strategic partnership with Danish defense concern Terma Group to work together on a low-cost drone interceptor based on artificial intelligence.
The Ukrainian company's press release emphasized that the key complexity of interceptor drones lies in the combination of detecting, tracking, and intercepting an enemy UAV with another autonomous vehicle.
At the same time, the types of Russian drones that need to be countered vary greatly: from FPV and tactical drones like Mavic to operational fixed-wing drones like Zala and long-range strike drones like Shahed.
"Terma and Odd Systems will combine their existing solutions while simultaneously developing a suite of products to counter these and other airborne threats," Odd Systems noted.
Odd Systems is a defense technology company headquartered in Kyiv, specializing in the development and production of thermal imaging cameras and FPV drones.
It supplies the Gorska-12 FPV aerial interceptor platform, as well as the Stus-7 and Lupynis-10 FPV attack platforms. The company also developed and manufactures thermal imaging cameras for the Kurbas-256 and Kurbas-640 FPV drones in Ukraine.
Terma A/S is the largest Danish manufacturer of defense and aerospace products for both civil and military applications for defense and security. The company offers radar systems, avionics and space electronics. At the same time, Defense Express reminded that the company is a supplier of components for the F-35.
Recently, the director of the Defense Procurement Agency, Arsen Zhumadilov, stated that the Agency has contracted tens of thousands of interceptor drones.
