GUR showed the "stuffing" of a new Russian drone for searching and reloading Ukrainian air defenses
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's GUR published the components of the new UAV in the "Weapon Components" section of the War&Sanctions portal, which is currently used by the Russian Federation as a reconnaissance and decoy target to detect Ukrainian air defense positions and overload them. According to some reports, it can also carry a warhead weighing up to 15 kg, the department said in a statement.
According to the GUR, the aircraft has a delta-wing fuselage, similar to the Shahed-136 ("Geran-2"), but much smaller. The administration claims that all components and units are of Chinese origin.
"Almost half of them: a flight controller with autopilot, navigation modules and antennas, an airspeed sensor and a pitot tube - from one Chinese company, CUAV Technology, which specializes in the research, development and production of system modules and applications for UAVs," the report said.
The GUR recalled that in October 2022, the company announced restrictions on the supply of its products to Ukraine and the Russian Federation in order to prevent their use for military purposes. However, the department noted that in 2023, a vertical take-off UAV of its own design was presented in the Russian Federation - the one that turned out to be a CUAV Technology product available on Aliexpress.
"In addition to CUAV products, such UAVs use an engine and electronic ignition module of the DLE brand (Mile Haoxiang Technology Co., Ltd.), KST servos, a Razer FPV camera manufactured by Foxeer Technology, a Mayatech RFD900X data transmission module, a ReadyToSky video transmitter, a Hobbywing Technology power regulator, and an HRB Power battery," the GUR added.
It was noted here that the UAV is also equipped with a Chinese copy of the Australian RFD900x data transmission module from RFDesign. Like the original sample, the Chinese product is designed for long-distance data transmission (up to 40 km in line of sight, depending on the antenna).
The department explained that this device allows you to organize a data transmission channel from a drone to its ground station or from UAV to UAV, thus expanding reconnaissance capabilities.
The GUR recalled that DLE engines had previously been used by the Russian Federation in the Gerbera and Parodia UAVs, KST servo drives in the Shahed-136 ("Geran-2") and V2U UAVs, universal planning and correction modules, and aviation bombs.
By the way, recently, the head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated that North Korea is currently supplying up to 40% of Russia's ammunition for the war in Ukraine, as the partnership between Pyongyang and Moscow is deepening.
