The enemy is jamming British military satellites every week – Space Command
The UK Space Command has said that Russia is regularly trying to jam British military satellites, Bloomberg reports.
Major General Paul Tedman noted that Russian forces are actively trying to disrupt the UK's military activities, doing so "on a weekly basis" and closely monitoring the country's space resources.
"We're seeing our satellites being jammed by the Russians on a reasonably persistent basis," he said.
The UK has around six specialised military satellites for communications and surveillance, which the major general said are equipped with anti-jamming technology.
"They've got payloads on board that can see our satellites and are trying to collect information from them," added Paul Tedman.
At the same time, in September, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius reported that Russia had been monitoring two Intelsat satellites used by the German military.
"They can jam, blind, manipulate, or kinetically disrupt satellites," he said at a space conference in Berlin.
Earlier, the Pentagon began deploying a new satellite network for the Golden Dome system.
