The Russian army is using four main modifications of strike drones against Ukraine, created on the basis of the Iranian Shahed-136. This was reported by the presidential advisor on sanctions policy Vladyslav Vlasyuk, noting that Ukraine keeps a separate record of the types of drones used by the Russian Federation.

The list includes the original Shahed-136, a disposable drone with a range of up to 2,000 km, a speed of 180 km/h, and a 50 kg warhead. It is equipped with a CRPA antenna and transmits telemetry via LTE. Modifications include a color change, updated warhead, and communications systems.

Geran-2 is a Russian analogue of the Shahed-136, produced in Alabuz. It has similar characteristics, but uses Russian components, in particular the Comet antenna. The drone is adapted for winter conditions and has a modernized engine.

The Harpy-A1 , developed in Izhevsk, has a shorter range of up to 1,500 km, but can carry up to 90 kg of explosives. It is equipped with a thermal imager with AI guidance and PTM-3 mine-laying cartridges.

Gerbera is a multifunctional drone with a range of 450 km and a speed of 160 km/h. It is used as a strike and reconnaissance drone or as a repeater or decoy. It has a GNSS or CRPA antenna, and in the reconnaissance version - a mesh modem and a video camera.

According to the GUR, as of May 2025, the production of Shaheds in Russia reached about 170 units per day. By the end of the year, this figure is planned to be increased to 190 drones per day.
