Taiwan shows off Hellfire missile launcher based on civilian truck

The Taiwanese military has unveiled a new solution that appears to be a partial plagiarism of Ukraine's Operation "Website." The published video shows a mobile missile launcher disguised as a civilian truck, writes Defense Blog.

Judging by the video, the military took a regular commercial van and equipped it with a hidden launcher for AGM-114 Hellfire missiles. The system received a folding guidance mast that folds onto the roof of the car. This allows the car to be easily camouflaged. The van itself is shown from the 4:12 time mark.

The system is equipped with onboard sensors for independent target acquisition. These include electro-optical and infrared surveillance systems, and they are integrated into the launcher. Thus, the system can operate independently, without external target designation.

There has been no official comment from the authorities yet. However, local observers call this technical solution a kind of response to Taipei's growing concerns about a possible Chinese naval landing across the Taiwan Strait.

At the same time, this approach is reminiscent not only of Operation Spiderweb, but also of earlier developments, when Brimstone anti-tank missiles were launched from unarmored trucks in battles against Russian troops.

Earlier, the head of the SSU told what features the drones involved in Operation "Web" had.
