Russians have problems with the production of Kh-59 aircraft missiles – GUR

- 13 August, 12:10 PM

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Defense Department reported that Russia is not fulfilling the state defense order for Kh-59 aircraft missiles. This is stated in an interactive diagram published on the War&Sanctions portal.

According to this data, out of 116 enterprises involved in the production of the Kh-59M2/M2A aircraft missile, about 50 companies are still not under sanctions in any country in the world. However, even under such conditions, the enemy has problems with fulfilling state defense orders.

According to the GUR, the Russians lack domestic and foreign component base, as well as production capacity, which leads to schedule disruption. Even the use of old engines and components for homing systems does not save the situation.

It is noted that on some missiles, instead of active radar homing heads (ARGSN), mass-and-dimension mock-ups were installed, since it is the ARGSN that is the most expensive element of the missile.

But at the same time, there are dozens of enterprises that manufacture electronic components, guidance systems, and other key components of the X-59, and they are still not under sanctions, which allows them to modernize and produce missiles, even if of poorer quality.

The Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Directorate of Defense stated that sanctions are an effective tool and called for them to be expanded against enterprises that supply components for missiles.

Defense reminds that the Kh-59 missiles are air-to-surface systems for striking buildings and shelters. There are several modifications of the Kh-59 for different tasks and with different ARGSN.
