Ukraine's potential in drone and missile production in 2026 will be $35 billion – Zelenskyy

Ukrainian potential in the production of drones and missiles will reach $35 billion in 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. According to him, since the start of the full-scale war, the potential of the Ukrainian defense industry has "increased dozens of times."

"Already at the front, more than 40% of the weapons used are weapons produced in Ukraine or produced with Ukraine. And our weapons will only increase," the head of state added.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the task for manufacturers, the government, and other institutions involved is to ensure that at least 50% of Ukrainian weapons are on the front line by the end of the year.

He emphasized that Ukraine was able to establish production of domestic artillery in record speed and quality. According to him, production of the Bogdan self-propelled guns reached 40 units per month.

"Plus our production of shells: last year we produced and delivered 2.4 million mortar and artillery ammunition of various calibers to the front," the head of state said.

The President also drew attention to the export of Ukrainian weapons. We are talking about those types of weapons that Ukraine has in surplus and which it can export in order to have financing for those types of weapons that are especially needed for defense.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had instructed the government, the Office and the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine to develop and present key elements of such an export system. The general working title of the program is "Weapons".

"Our export product. There are already agreements to open export-import platforms in Europe, the United States, and the Middle East. The task by the end of the year is to launch these platforms," he said.

Recall that on September 19, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the launch of controlled exports of Ukrainian weapons to ensure financing and large-scale production of the necessary military equipment.
