Ukrainian research and production company Altair Technologies has shown a pneumatic catapult for UAVs. The developer shared its characteristics in a post on Facebook.

Altair Technologies says its pneumatic catapult is designed to "launch aircraft" with a takeoff weight of up to 6 kg at speeds of up to 90 km/h. The deployment time is up to 2 minutes.

"This is the optimal solution for fast flights in difficult conditions, when every kilogram of equipment and every second of preparation is important," the manufacturer claims.

According to Altair Technologies, the kit includes a full training course on operation. This will avoid difficulties in putting the pneumatic catapult into operation.

"Suitable for aircraft-type UAVs, wings, and other small-sized platforms. This is a technique that allows drones to be launched where there is no runway, electricity, or extra time," the company added.

The Altair Technologies website states that the company has its own design bureau and engineering department. The manufacturer's scope of activity is the development, production and maintenance of reconnaissance and combat unmanned aircraft-type systems, as well as means of combating them.

Among the company's products is the "LOKI" UAV, which is used as a kamikaze. In addition, there is a "TOR" complex of the basic version with three internal combustion engine aircraft, a ground control station (antenna, remote control, laptop), a launcher, a packaging box and a set of spare parts).

The manufacturer also offers the "TOR A" complex in the basic version, which includes three aircraft with an electric motor, a ground control station (antenna, remote control, laptop), a launcher, a packaging box, and a set of spare parts.
