North Korea provides Russia with up to 40% of its ammunition – Budanov

- 11 July, 04:31 PM

North Korea is currently supplying up to 40% of Russia's ammunition for the war in Ukraine, as the partnership between Pyongyang and Moscow deepens, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's General Directorate of Military Operations, said in an interview with Bloomberg News.

He said Kim Jong-un's regime also supplies Russia with other weapons, including ballistic missiles and artillery systems. In return, Russia provides North Korea with money and technology, helping to ease Pyongyang's international isolation.

The head of the Ministry of Defense's GUR also adds that North Korea has huge reserves, and production continues around the clock.

Russia has reportedly strengthened military ties with North Korea since signing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty last June. North Korea has sent thousands of troops to help Moscow push Ukrainian troops out of territory in the Kursk region.

Kim Jong-un has promised to support Russia in the war, and Western intelligence estimates that Pyongyang has sent millions of artillery shells to the Russian army.
