British-Ukrainian startup Offset Labs raises over $1 million to develop defense AI models
British-Ukrainian startup Offset Labs, founded in 2024 by three Ukrainian engineers, has received over $1 million in investment to create specialized artificial intelligence models for the defense sector, Defender Media reports.
The company raised its first $330,000 from angel investors in 2024, while a pre-seed round of $700,000 was recently completed, with the participation of the British fund Archangel Ventures, Amadeus Capital Partners, and Seven Capital. Archangel Ventures acted as the lead investor.
Offset Labs specializes in developing AI solutions for signal and voice processing in operational environments. The main customers are expected to be NATO countries and their allies. The startup is headquartered in London, with part of the team working in Kyiv.
The founders of the company are Borys Nadykto (CEO, former AI Scientist at Amazon and Twitch), Denys Budnyk (experience working at Volkswagen Group) and Andrii Yakovyna (worked at EPAM Systems and Itemis).
The investment is planned to be used to expand the team and research and development. Archangel Ventures representatives noted that the startup addresses specific needs of the European defense industry with technologies capable of providing military advantage.
Amadeus Capital Partners added that Offset Labs is rapidly creating specialized AI solutions that meet the requirements of the current geopolitical situation.
“Artificial intelligence offers the chance to create a qualitative advantage in defence and to help the free world consolidate its technological leadership. But AI’s very nature requires scaling data, talent, and infrastructure. That is why Offset Labs exists — to unite deep AI innovation for defence customers under one roof, ensuring Western leadership in this critical domain,” said Offset Labs CEO Borys Nadykto.
