Military can now leave ratings and reviews for drones on DOT-Chain Defence
On the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace, military personnel can now evaluate ordered drones and leave feedback on their use in combat conditions, according to a statement from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.
The defense department claims that the new option will help units make more informed choices - decisions will be based not only on technical characteristics, but also on real combat experience.
"Each authorized user can submit a rating on a five-point scale — from 1 (unsatisfactory) to 5 (excellent). Reviews may note both the strengths and weaknesses of drones, as well as the specifics of their use in field conditions, ease of operation, build quality, resilience to electronic interference, and other operational aspects," the Ministry of Defence explained.
It was clarified here that currently only military personnel can see the ratings. In the future, this opportunity will also appear for manufacturers. It is noted that this will help them communicate directly with consumers and respond to comments from soldiers.
"The rating system was introduced at the request of service members, who were the first to participate in the pilot project. In general, this marks just the first step based on the list of proposals gathered during visits to brigades and surveys of service members," the Ministry of Defence added.
Recall that DOT-Chain Defence is a new service of the Ministry of Defence, which allows the military to order drones directly from the manufacturer, without waiting for numerous approvals from the General Staff and the Ministry of Defence. In two months of operation, units ordered almost 17 thousand drones worth approximately 600 million UAH.
In early October, it became known that the Defense Procurement Agency plans to transfer 70% of state procurement of FPV drones, heavy bombers, and reconnaissance UAVs to the DOT-Chain Defence system within six months.
