As part of the "Drone Line" initiative, the Netherlands has signed contracts for 600,000 Ukrainian drones. The ordered UAVs will be delivered to the Ukrainian Defense Forces by the end of this year, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov reported.
The total amount of signed contracts amounted to 500 million euros. The purchase of Ukrainian drones is part of a new aid package from the Netherlands worth 675 million euros.
In addition, Amsterdam announced an additional €80 million for UAVs as part of the international drone coalition. The country previously invested €20 million in this project.
In addition to drones, Ukraine will receive 100 radars to detect drones, as well as 20 partially unmanned modular vehicles to evacuate the wounded from the battlefield.
It should be noted that this is the second large-scale purchase of Ukrainian drones from a NATO country announced in a day. The day before, Ukraine and the United Kingdom launched a project to produce Ukrainian drones. The Kingdom pledged to finance the production of Ukrainian drone models for the SOU on its territory for three years.
