The Russian Kupol plant in Izhevsk, which specializes in the production of Tor air defense systems, radar systems, and Garpiya drones, was struck by modernized "Lyutyy" kamikaze drones.

One of the videos of the "Lyutyy" drone flight published on Russian resources shows that the drone does not have a chassis, and therefore from now on it is launched not from the road, but from a stationary catapult or a special mobile transport platform.

This improvement is likely to improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the strike drone and allow it to consume less fuel, which would increase the drone's flight range or allow it to install additional payloads, as well as reduce radar visibility. In addition, the more streamlined shape of the "Lyutyy" could increase the drone's speed.

The Russian plant is located about 1,330 km from the Ukrainian border. Given the safe launch zone, the Ukrainian drones had to fly over 1,400 km to destroy the enemy target.

Ukraine is modernizing various of its own strike drones. On the eve, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense published a video of strikes on Russian air defense systems and radars in occupied Crimea using a modernized Ukrainian suicide drone "Bober".
