There is no need to turn off mobile communications in Ukraine during drone attacks – Flash

There is currently no need to turn off mobile communications nationwide during Russian drone attacks, according to military radio technology expert Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov.

"At the moment, the Shaheds are not controlled via mobile communications, and we are stopping attempts to transmit flight coordinates by blocking the enemy's SIM cards. That is, there is no need to do anything with mobile communications on a country-wide scale right now. Once again, there is no real need to turn anything off right now," he wrote.

The specialist recalled that in Ukraine, the topic of disabling mobile communications or data transmission services as a means of combating enemy UAVs is raised every month.

At the same time, he noted that although there is no need to disconnect now, it is worth being prepared for any scenarios.

"Our enemy is technically competent and cunning. If there is a problem, we will act," added Flash.

Recently, Suspilne, citing a source, reported that the General Staff is considering the possibility of turning off the mobile network or significantly slowing down the mobile Internet during alarms.

The source said that in some cases, it may be appropriate to use a reduction in mobile internet speed to limit the operation of the UAV in FPV mode. However, this depends on the type of drone.
