The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified and approved for operation by the military eight new domestically produced ground robotic complexes (GRCs) in July 2025. According to the Ministry of Defence, these systems are capable of performing a wide range of tasks.

Among the NRCs approved for operation are universal multifunctional platforms that can perform logistical and special tasks. They are also capable of transporting wounded people who need urgent evacuation.

The Main Directorate for Life Cycle Support of Armaments and Military Equipment notes that among the new NRCs there are options on wheeled and tracked chassis.

The models have modern communication systems and cameras for video broadcasting. At the same time, the new NRCs can operate in various weather conditions and cover long distances.

In total, since the beginning of 2025, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and authorized the operation of a total of 40 Ukrainian-made NRCs. For comparison, in 2024, the Ministry of Defence will allow 60 such complexes to be operated, and in 2023 - only 13.

The defense ministry has not yet announced the exact characteristics of the new systems. It has also not been announced when they will begin to be used in combat conditions.

At the same time, Ukraine has previously developed a combat UAV that can withstand multiple hits from FPV drones. This is the Zmiy Droid 12.7 model from DevDroid and Rovertech, which can be used for reconnaissance and fire-based target destruction. The new product is at the codification stage and is already ready for combat use.
