Since the beginning of the year, almost 30 ground robots have been approved for use in the military
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported that since the beginning of 2025, almost 30 Ukrainian-made ground robotic complexes (GRCs) and combat modules have been codified and approved for use in the army. According to Deputy Defense Minister Valery Churkin, this is a third more than in the same period last year.
"We are actively developing robotic platforms and integrating them into the combat formations of our troops. These systems enhance the capabilities of our units and save the lives of our soldiers. On the front line, robotic systems are already successfully carrying out a wide range of missions," Valery Churkin noted.
According to the official, these are universal IRCs - multifunctional platforms capable of performing a wide range of tasks: evacuation of the wounded, surveillance, fire support, logistics, mining and demining. Most of them have a modular design, which allows the complexes to be adapted to specific needs on the battlefield.
Several of these NRCs have recently been codified and approved for use in the Armed Forces by the Ministry of Defense. These include the new ground-based tracked drone Murakha, which is designed to support units in difficult combat conditions, as well as the heavy-class drone PROTECTOR, which is capable of carrying loads weighing up to 700 kg.
