Russia has developed a mini version of the Buratino jet flamethrower based on a ground drone
Russia has developed a mini-version of the "Buratino" flamethrower system based on a remotely controlled ground drone. It is a "Combat Module of a Single-Use Rocket Weapon", which was created by Moscow-based LLC "Robotechnical Engineering". BTVT.INFO reports.
The system is said to use disposable rocket munitions. The design allows the system to be reloaded in the field using infantry weapons.
The combat module of the rocket weapon is placed on the chassis of the robotic complex, and the operator can fire simultaneously from all "barrels" or in any order.
It is stated that in case of loss of communication between the remote control and the complex, the system switches to automatic mode. The movement is controlled by satellite data and signals from the IMU sensor.
The system supposedly self-locates to the target, determines the direction and elevation angle of the barrel. Before firing, it scans the space in the direction of fire to avoid the ammunition hitting obstacles.
It is noted that the chassis looks quite stable. But even in the photo it is clear that the platform does not even have anti-fragmentation protection, and the displacement of the payload to the rear part of the chassis raises questions about stability during firing.
