The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the destruction of a military-industrial complex facility in Cheboksary, where antennas for the Shaheds were manufactured.
"As part of reducing the enemy's ability to produce air attack weapons, on the night of June 9, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, struck the facilities of JSC "VNIIR-Progress" of LLC "ABS Electro", located in the city of Cheboksary on the territory of the Chuvash Republic, Russia," the General Staff said in a statement.
It was clarified here that this military-industrial complex is a manufacturer of navigation equipment and provides adaptive Comet antennas. They are used not only in Shahed-type strike UAVs, but also in unified planning and correction modules (UMPK) for guided aerial bombs (CAB) and other high-precision weapons.
"The destruction of the facility by at least two UAVs and the subsequent large-scale fire have been confirmed. The results of the destruction are being clarified. Restrictions on the operation of airports (the "Carpet" plan) have been applied in Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, and Tambov," the General Staff added.
